ProMelt is well-suited in commercial and residential applications where first cost is important and mechanical rooms are small.

Follow these recommendations when selecting ProMelt Mats:

1. Determine what voltage will be used: 120VAC, 208VAC, 240VAC, or 277VAC.

2. Determine the heat output. The climate and amount of snowfall will dictate this choice. In general, most systems will require 50 Watts/Sq. Ft. spacing to melt snow and ice. Some residential or light commercial systems in temperate climates may need only 38 Watts/Sq. Ft. spacing.

3. Determine the square footage of the area to be melted. Do not include areas under built-ins like planters or similar obstructions. Stay 3-6" from edges of slabs and do not cross expansion joints if possible. Add up all the areas to be melted and round down the nearest mat size(s) to fill the area. Either 2'-wide or 3'-wide mats can be selected.

SunTouch Floor Heating Mats 15 sq

$223.00

SunTouch Electric Radiant Floor Heat Mats 3 feet

Size: 3' x 5' = 15 sq. ft

Available Voltage: 120 Volt only

These electric radiant heated floor mats are made using thin, open-weave construction. This allows thinset or self-leveling mortar to flow through the mat, which easily bonds with the underlying material. The braided twin wire design of these mats creates ultra-low EMF when measured 1/2 inches above the wire.

SunTouch is the safest and easiest-to-install heating mat in the industry. It is Listed by UL for the U.S. and Canada, and tested by Tile Council of America for all residential and moderate commercial applications.
All mats have the "S-pattern" wire construction and produce 12 watts/sq. ft.

Just a few benefits of SunTouch mats are:

1. The industry's first thin, open-weave construction allows thin-set or self-leveling mortar to flow through the mat and easily bond with the underlying material. This one-step application adds only 1/8" thickness over a normal tile installation.
2. The industry's first single power lead construction makes mats easy to install and simpler to connect to the control.
3. The industry's highest-quality heating wire using Aramid reinforcing, ETFE high-temperature insulation, XLPE (PEX) jacket, and oxygen-free copper alloys for corrosion resistance, temperature resistance, abrasion resistance, and longevity.
4. The industry's first twin-wire construction creates ultra-low EMF.
5. 120-VAC and 240-VAC models available for small residential to large commercial applications.
6. The industry???s only shielded and fully grounded 10-ft. power lead provides safety and job site durability. Power leads are color-coded for 120 VAC or 240 VAC.

SunTouch electric radiant heated floor mats are designed to warm stone and tile floors in bathrooms, kitchens, entries and sun rooms

Roll out SunTouch on your subfloor or suspend SunTouch UnderFloor between your floor joists. Either mat is easily installed. See our product sections for complete details on your next radiant floor heating project.

Q&A

Will any third party sensor work with the CommBox or ResiBox?

The CommBox and Resibox have been programmed to work with a variety of third-party sensors.Though Warmup may not be familiar with all the 5 and 6-signal sensors on the market, the basic functioning are similar.

Sensors from Environmental Technologies Inc (ETI) have been tested and perform well. As an example, the GIT-1 and CIT-1 sensors are compatible with the Warmup system. They can even be connected in conjunction with the AirSense sensor from Warmup.

Where are the DIP switches located on the COMMBOX-600?

The four DIP switches are located on the back of the Commbox thermostat unit, on the back of the door. Please follow the instruction manual for proper use.

What Does the HI/LO Error message mean on my COMMBOX?

The HI/LO error message means that the ambient sensor readings (on snow sensor) are out of reliable measuring range. HI LO

Ambient Temperature < -9??F - Ambient Temperature > 54??F

The system will continue to operate using constant predefined values. In addition, the display will alternate between ???LO??? and -11??F for low temperature readings, and between ???HI??? and 55??F for high temperature readings.

What does COMMBOX error code "SensErr 2" mean?

Error 2 ???SensErr 2??? will appear when the upper limit sensor is not connected or has short-circuited.

The system will continue to operate regardless of the upper limit temperature.

Required Actions:

1. Refer to P03 section of the technician settings.
2. Check the temperature value and disable the sensor if needed.
3. Replace the sensor.

What does COMMBOX error code ???SensErr 1??? mean?

Error 1 ???SensErr 1??? will appear when there is a communication error with one (or more) snow sensors.

If the system is configured to work with more than 1 snow sensor, the faulty snow sensor number will appear on display: P01, P02, P03 or P04.

The system will use readings from snow sensor 1 instead of the missing readings from the faulty snow sensor.

How many Mats or Amps can I connect to the CommBox?

The CommBox-600 is equipped with four (4) 50Amp 3-Phase relay contactors. This means that at 2-phase, you can connect up to 200 Amps worth of power, but at 3-phase, you can connect 150A per contactor. The relays are rated for 120-600 volts so the CommBox can be wired for 208, 277 and 480 using 3-Phase.

How long should I program my CommBox to melt snow?

It will vary depending on the depth of the cable in the material (concrete, pavers or asphalt) and the voltage input into the cable (280-240-277). The lower the cable is embedded and the lower the voltage, the longer the system will have to run.

It is clear that pre-runs and anticipation of the snowfall is critical for a successful system. In the event of high precipitation, manually activating the system several hours prior is recommended, as it will actually reduce the total run-time as melting will occur faster by preventing build-up. When snow has had the chance to build up, it takes significantly longer to melt it.

Two hour run times per zone is typical. Make sure that zone 1 (contactor 1) is the most critical area (such as a walkway to the door or tire-tracks) as zones 2 and following will experience build-ups and take longer to heat up.

Please refer to the installation manual for more information.

Installation of Loose Cables

spacers to be used with loose wire snowmelt cable

While the WARMUP WSMM mats come in pre-formed rolls with the cable pre spaced at 3??? for an optimum 50 watts/sqft output, the WSMC cables allow for custom spacing and installation on steps.

There are 2 methods to secure the cable:
??? Attached to re-bar mesh or similar
??? Secured to WARMUP CLIP system

When a reinforcement mesh like re-bar is used, apply the cables to the grid using zip ties. Do not use metal clamps or specific drills using metal wire twists. When spacing the cables, use the provided chart in this manual to define the total square foot output based on a 3???, 4??? or 5??? spacing. Do not space the cables closer than 3??? or wider than 5???.

Another method to secure the cable and maintain consistent spacing is with the use of the WARMUP CLIP system. The clips come in strips of 3ft and provide adequate grooves to snap the cable. The clips can simply be laid down on the base (crushed gravel, sand, concrete) and if necessary, can be secured with hot glue or liquid nails. It is our experience that the weight of the cable tends to hold the clips down, although it is safer to secure the outer clips to prevent the system from shifting around when pouring concrete or laying pavers. Use the clips at both ends of the installation, and about every 3 to 5ft in between to ensure the cable is consistently spaced.

WARRANTY & MAINTENANCE When installed according to the installation manual, the SIT-6E is covered with Warmup???s 1-year manufacturer warranty.

SlabHeat??? is engineered with the capability to produce enough BTUs to heat a slab, the space, and the surface people walk on. Regardless of size, shape, or thickness, SlabHeat is the way to provide heat to just about any environment.

SlabHeat cable is a series resistance electric heating cable consisting of a polyurethane outer jacket, full coverage braided copper ground plane, ETFE insulation, and dual copper heating elements connected to a single power lead for easy single-point connection.

Coverage Area & Spec:

  • Sq. Ft @ 4" - 6"O.C. - 100 to 149
  • Length (ft) - 294 Linear ft
  • Amperage Draw - 6.3
  • Watts - 1500
  • Ohms - 33 - 41

Typical uses:

  • 4" spacing: Sun room floors, basement slabs, bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, and baths with exterior walls. (NOTE: Insulation is always recommended due to high heat losses in these areas. Performance is never guaranteed due to construction and climate differences in these applications.)
  • 6" spacing: Hallways, entry ways, garages, workshops, and large areas with low heat loss.

Note: Never space cables closer than 4" apart; this will cause a very hot area and may cause damage.
